Betty Joyce Frey of Cleburne, Texas, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 11, 2019. She was born on April 15, 1934, to George Leland Cain and Iola Bell Booth Cain in Cleburne, Texas. She married Eugene “Gene” George Frey on April 11, 1953, in the TCU Chapel in Fort Worth. The loving couple had two children and were happily married 59 years before Gene’s passing in 2013. She worked as an accountant until retiring at age 74. Betty began singing at age three, when she sang her first solo, and carried her love for music with her into her adult life. She was a dedicated member of the church choir and multiple church-based music groups over the years. Betty was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne, where she and her husband served faithfully for many years. She cherished her family, friends, and church; and leaves behind a rich legacy of faith and love. She will be affectionately remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and Mimi.
She is survived by her son, George Richard Frey and wife, Mary, of Joshua; daughter, Lisa Darlene Briley and husband, John, of McKinney; grandchildren, Stephanie Hutchins, Steve Briley, Michael Frey, and Lisa Soucy ; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Mariah, Logan, Taylor, Cameron, Dylan, Kaitlyn and Robert; and sister, Darla Barnoski of Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Gene” George Frey, and both her parents.
